Grouping of eight English fox hunting prints from "The Quorn Hunt" series by Henry Thomas Alken ((1785-1851) including Plate I "The Meet", Plate II "Drawing Cover", Plate III "Talli Ho! and Away", Plate IV "The Pace Begins To Tell", Plate V "Snob Is Beat", Plate VI "Full-cry Second Horses", Plate VII "The Whifsendine Appears In View", and Plate VIII "The Death". The collection of hand-colored aquatint plates, were drawn and etched by H. Alken and engraved by F.C. Lewis. They were published in February 1835 by Rudolph Ackermann, 191 Reagent St., London. Plates measure 15.75" x 20" (sight) and are housed in frames measuring 25" x 29.5". Plates exhibit some spotting and foxing with Plate III exhibiting tear at lower border involving some text. Prints were not removed from frames for inspection/cataloging purposes.
