Colt Single Action Army Revolver (Artillery Model) bearing the serial #116739 (matching serial numbers with exception of loading gate which is numbered"118") in .45 caliber. Pistol presents a 5.5" round barrel. Top of barrel presents one-line stamping"COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.". with left side of frame stamped "US". Serial number indicates that the pistol was manufactured in 1885. Pistol exhibits the majority of its original bluing and case hardening. Pistol exhibits ordnance inspector mark of"R.A.C." (Rinaldo A. Carr) on wood of grip and interior rear of cylinder and"D.F.C" (David F. Clark) on metal towards front of frame. Wood and metal exhibit minimal abrasions and digs. Upper backstrap of pistol exhibits rack #"21". Gun would rate excellent in NRA antique firearms standards if not for mismatched loading gate. Provenance: Gary S. Wolfer Collection.
