Photograph album kept by a member of the USS Aroostook CM-3 minelayer during World War I. Album contains 120 photograph measuring 2.75" x 4.5", 18 photographs measuring 2.25" x 3.5" and 4 photographs measuring 3.25" x 5.5". Photographs show crew at sea and in off hours as well as equipment sea views and other images related to the ship. Accompanying album is a group of 9-real photo post cards and 5 small images showing the Aroostook, it's crew, seaplanes and a hard hat diver on deck. The USS Aroostook served as a mine layer in the North Sea in 1918 and an aircraft tender following WWI from 1919 - 1931. Provenance: Charles Lekites Collection.
