Leon Castner has Joined Alderfer Auction as Trusts and Estate Specialist and Senior Appraiser

November 19, 2019, Hatfield, PA – Leon Castner has joined Alderfer Auction as their Trusts and Estate Specialist and Senior Appraiser.  Leon has been an auctioneer and appraiser for over 40 years, spending most of his time as owner of Castner Estate Service in Branchville, NJ.  He is Senior Partner of National Appraisal Consultants of Hope, NJ, a firm which tackles difficult appraisal assignments, one of which was the Nixon “Watergate” papers.  He is a Certified USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) Instructor and has taught at the collegiate level as well as being the director of education for the International Society of Appraisers and chief appraisal methodology instructor. He has written thousands of professional articles and was co-host of the nationally syndicated radio show “Value This with Brian and Leon.”

Leon has a vast general knowledge of antiques and collectibles, even as he specializes in tough appraisal assignments involving blockage, broad evidence, and claims or litigation. He serves as a major expert witness for TASA in Blue Bell, PA. Leon cheerfully presents lectures, meetings, and appraisal days with humor, wit, and understanding. He is fond of saying that “there’s many more men with hair than wit.”
